Gulf Oil Marine’s eighth Transition Seminar was held in Hamburg on 6th March. As with the other seminars in Gulf Oil Marine’s 2020 seminar series, the seminar served to work with the local customers regarding the preparation and implementation planning for their ships’ compliance of the 2020 regulations.

Gulf Oil Marine has been conducting a series of “2020 Transition Seminars” around the world to share the preparatory and transitional issues surrounding the 2020 regulatory change to the new reduced 0.5% limit. The sixth and seventh seminars in Dubai and Mumbai were held on 21st and 22nd February respectively. More than a hundred of ship owners, ship managers and ship operators attended the two events.

2020 Transition Seminar in Busan & Bangkok

Gulf Oil Marine completed its 4th and 5th 2020 Transition Seminars in Busan and Bangkok last week, on 22nd and 25th January 2019 respectively. The two events were attended by over 50 ship owners, ship managers and ship operators.
Gulf Oil Marine’s survey finds that majority of ship operators (60% of our respondents) have yet to prepare their vessel implementation plan.
Eighty percent of respondents would like to work with Gulf Oil Marine to develop their plan.

According to the results of Gulf Oil Marine’s survey conducted in 2018, awareness of the IMO’s 2020 Sulphur emission regulations was very high with more than 95%* of survey respondents being aware of the forthcoming regulations.
