Gulf Oil Marine wrapped up its series of 2020 Transition seminars in Athens

Gulf Oil Marine wrapped up its series of 2020 Transition seminars in Athens on 14 March. More than 100 ship owners, ship managers and ship operators attended the event.

 

The Athens seminar was conducted together with Gulf Oil Marine’s Team Hellas. Like in other seminars in the series, the objective was to provide useful guidelines and tips to assist the ship operators to prepare and implement their transition plan by 2020.

 

Gulf Oil Marine’s technical representatives shared the overview of IMO 2020 regulations and the transitional challenges facing the ship operators adopting to use the low-sulphur fuels for 2020 compliance. Mr. Don Gregory, Global Technology and Solutions Manager from Gulf Oil Marine, also explained the issues surrounding scrubbers and introduced some new innovative technologies. Mr. George Drossos, Head of Marine New Sales & Promotion, MAN Energy Solutions Hellas, explained the fuels and lubes oil issues and developments resulting from the 2020 changes, sharing the views from the perspective of a major OEM

 

Our 2020 Ship Implementation Plan Toolkit (website: gulfmarine2020.azurtane.com) was presented; we explained how this platform can assist customers plan and document their ship compliance plans in an easy and convenient manner. 

 

Customers were engaged throughout the presentations and discussions on various topics continued over cocktail and dinner, providing positive feedback that the seminar useful and informative. There was also strong interest to use our 2020 ship implementation tool (website: gulfmarine2020.azurtane.com) to work on the documentation of their vessels’ compliance plans.
